i was watching a video about the xbox one hack ive already heard of forever ago and i hate it because i GUESS ITS A "HACK" you have to jank the hell out of it and fully disassemble nearly everything THEN jerk around with the hardware then short the power supply then the processor glitches up and messes up a check then you can get arbitrary code execution only works on xbox ones specifically from 2013 oh and you need to solder wires to the motherboard ohh and remove some capacitors and ohh a basic mosfet setup to pull the north bridge core rail to ground ohhh like I GUESS BRO

more specifically, by placing a resistor on the power rails and removing surface mounted capacitors from the board to reduce "noise", the guy used "Differential Power Analysis (DPA)" to map the electrical signatures of the boot process: THEN THIS GUY USES "CROWBAR VOLTAGE GLITCHING": ""briefly pulling the North Bridge rail to ground for roughly 100–200 nanoseconds — to corrupt this initialization and trick the system into outputting postcodes it was supposed to keep silent"" and then all that for a successful boot that currently lands within a range of roughly a minute to 30 minutes

its not worth it at all dude i really dont want to acknowledge it as a hack because its barely a hack like yeah its a hack by definition but still

usually hacks arent "jerk around with your hardware (that you probably only have one of) for hours, burning through chips, and literally removing bits off your motherboard, while risking bricking/losing everything, to gain something you dont even know how to reasonably use to its fullest form, because all the research progress stopped when they got to the arbritrary code execution"

its usually "yeah we found this bug its at most 10 easy steps and if its related to hardware you'll at most have to bridge some pins or disconnect a battery or do something at a specific time"

AND DEV MODE EXISTS which kind of does 80% of what you would want to "hack" an xbox for
