Yeah, I've always found it quite silly. Even games like Super Meatboy I don't feel like entirely belong in that category. Moreover, I can count with my fingers the times I've actually gotten mad at a videogame like this (with the exception of Terraria but that's on me for trying undergeared day EoL), so I don't even understand where this sentiment comes from.
Even looking at Markiplier supposedly getting angry. He's literally laughing and having a great time.

the automatic lumping of difficult games into the "rage game" pile is obnoxious and i feel like that discourages people from working on building skill
